hello guys,

wondering if this will sound daft enough to ask.. I just bought puma 1.4 amazing drive tbh.. only thing is it doens't have cd player it came with factory fitted RDS 5000 unit (cd changer compatability)

is it possible to put in an aftermarket cd changer with my existing radio ? if so, what product I should be looking for, and also the wiring looms ?

if anybody had done it.. will really appreciate if I can get some info on this topic..

cheers..

you can get an aftermarket changer,i.e alpine, pioneer, jvc but you will need an adaptor to use these makes tho, failing that try ebay for a ford changer,or if you want to upgrade get a new cd headunit, facia adaptor and wiring adaptor hth

I asked for my Kat to be fitted with a 5000 radio/cassette player from new, complete with the Ford 6 CD changer fitted as well, over 10 years old now, and still working well.

There's normally some on the ebay:

I think Clarion made the original ones, so a 10 year old one of them would probably work.

Look under the passenger seat for the CD changer cable, some cars have them, some don't. If you've got one it's just a matter of fitting the changer to the floor and plugging it in.
