are there any common OE solutions? im wondering if the fiesta ST clutch would fit straight in? i assume as the gearboxes are 'basiclly' the same, that the plate would fit on the shaft but any ideas on if the cover would fit the flywheel? or are there any other none aftermarket units that fit?

What's wrong with the one designed for the car?

Just whack 'clutch' into the search box and you'll find loads of results.

Both Fiesta ST and focus 1.8 clutches fit, just need to use a puma slave.

well mines on the way out and will need changing before the year is out i'd say. i want to uprate it because:

1) i drive the bollocks off it.
2) i plan on upping the power later this year.

so im assuming a std one wont be man enough for the job for long.

if an ST cover and plate and puma slave will work straight out of the box then that sounds like a plan to me. whats the issue with the 1.8 clutch?!

(never crossed my mind to search, my bad   )

ive got the focus 1.8 in mine and it works very nicely, theres quite a bit more friction material on it so should last longer than the std one and its a bit lighter on the pedal.

ive got a 1.8 escort and the clutch is ok on that, considering how old it is,still light compared to my works van which was replaced october last year

to be fair the weight of it doesnt really bother me, im just more concerned about how much power itll take before it throws in the towel. is the 1.8 plate any wider diameter wise?

can't remember if the escort is the same but the focus1.8 and fez st is 220mm compared to the puma's 210mm, if your planning on big torque then you'll notice the difference in the strength of the st but it is obviously more expensive.

yeah i assumed it would be but must be cheaper than going for something aftermarket. thanks for that gents!

ok and use puma 1.7 concentric slave with focus clutch yer??

was going to get fiesta st one but prices are ridiculous cheapeast ive found a fiesta st one for is nearly 200 quid

focus 1.8 2 piece clutch £59 inc free delivery :) and £45 for concentric slave :) so sub 110 quid for whole uprated clutch haha

I paid the same for the slave but where on earth did you find the clutch for 59 quid? I'm sure peeps on here would be interested as having done this convertion myself it's the daddies-do-dars!

Sorry to bring a old thread up but if I used st150 clutch would I use puma friction plate or fiesta one?

I have one in my turbo puma, you use both the pressure plate and the friction from the st150 set. You need to use the hydrailic slave cilinder from the puma. I would advise putting in a new one while you're in there
