hi guys

I seriously contemplating converting my ford puma rear brake drums into disc, has anyone ever tried this and is it expensive to do ?

any info or guidance is welcome

cheers

The conversion to have discs instead of drums is easy.
Just about all 4 stud ford rear hubs just bolt on.

But...

As Red mentions, things are never that simple..
It is the ABS system.
It`s not compatible with other sensors and a bit of redesigning and machining is required to fit the Puma ones.
Wild E. Coyote`s thread has good answers..

By the Way,
A complete hub with the smallest discs available (253mm Focus discs)
is 2 1/2kg heavier than a hub with 200mm drum!!

thanks guys, would I be better off getting a complete rear axle with discs and just reconnecting up or is that even more off a challenge

Ah yes I'd forgot about the FRP ones, there's more chance of finding Elvis riding Shergar though

One Elivis riding Shergar.... If it's still available...
