Hiya, just wondering if anyone could assist. A friend of mine (well a friend of a friend) asked me and a mate to have a quick peek at her ford Ka while round at their house tonight. seems she's a bit worried about her steering.

Looks like there is excessive play in the universal joint in the steering column giving a fair bit of free play before the wheels start moving.

does anyone know approximately how big a job this would be for them to get sorted? Can just part of it be replaced or is it a whole new steering column? She's on a bit of a shoestring at the moment and is worried about garages ripping her off.

Cheers in advance :)

you should be able to replace just the UJ no need to replace the whole thing dont think there too expensive and just have to mark up where it come off its its not keyed (i cant remember?!)
