By changing the throw of the crank pins would this not affect the compression with a greater gap between the top of the piston and head ?
 
Yes but as your building an engine to start with you just change the piston and rod combination which you would have to anyway

Little change of plan in the construction schedule.

R99 will be getting transported to Legend Vehicle Specialists, the Primary sponsor of James Kayes BTCC Team in Kent.
Imtec kit will be fitted with some alterations to it.
Fixed Weld-in seats mounted, Harness welded in and the dash flocked.
And a new lick of Frozen White paint to go with it.

Are you running a focus rs engien? what was that like to fit? :)

No it's not a FRS engine. It began a standard engine like yours, then built to full FRP spec and from there it had a turbo conversion added. Currently sitting at the stage one of three of the building with stage two being completed next month. Currently in the bodyshop having the exterior transformed somewhat.
 
So the car is currently in Northfleet with Legend Vehicle Specialists. Fantastic bunch of guys and extremely easy to communicate with and helpful.

Unfortunately when removing the vinyls on the side of the car... the paint also came off with them

Yeah not happy with the loss of paint as its added more cost to it, but such as life but at least it all gets a new coat.
