Heater not blowing hot all time (intermittent)

Hi as above when the heater is set to full the air is not hot all the time, it comes in waves and is normally only luke warm.
I tried bleeding the expansion tank many times but it has not helped.

Could be your HCV or your heater control panel are on the way out

Rumours of my death are slightly exaggerated

My HCV seems to have been on the way out for the last year (bit like me really) in as much as its really slow to change from cold to hot.

Be warned - the day my heater started playing those sort of tricks the head gasket blew 30 miles down the road. Had to get a replacement engine fitted.
