Hello,
I’m Mantvydas, a guy from Lithuania. Got my moms puma 1.7 at 15 years old. I started racing at slaloms, and ice tracks. At 21 years started rallying, and entered a competition for amateurs. Today I have 5 pumas. 3 donors, 1 rolled, and one building with full cage. 1.7 maybe weak, but we managed to win 3rd place in our national competition of 6 rallys in 2022. We were in a class with engines up to 2 liters (type-r civics and etc) We won a rally in our class in 2023, but rolled badly on next event.
It’s badly written, but you will get the idea of me 😄
I’ll attach our progress pictures and a link to our onboard on one of the first rally of the year.
If you got some advice on what to do with puma to improve its torque, or what mods to use for rally would be appricaited. We currently use GAZ GOLD coilovers.
I’ll try to put pictures in order, let them tell the story 😄

Broke my spine, because there were no full rollcage, and no hans. New car will have those ofcourse :) I was a dumb kid.

Crash video attached:)

Plans is to put in full rollcage, and end what we started;) Nice to meet you all!

Excellent, welcome to the group.

Welcome (y)

Happy you learned from (and survived) your crash & will fit a vital safety cage etc. The slide looked really inocuous in the beginning but escalated very quickly once you caught the banking on the side of the road. Poor Puma 😢

We were all young at some point & I have learnt from many mistakes, ex-girlfriends being major ones - but they likely learned more than me :ROFLMAO:

Would have uploaded the onboard from the crash, but it’s not for all people 😄 Maybe someday 😂

I've watched the 2 videos, I know my friend Kevin Leek does Targa rallies in the UK and he has a rear cage in his Puma.
After your experience, a lesson will be learnt, when I was young I thought I was invincible, according to my navigator we hit a ford at 70mph in my rally Mini and hit the bank the other side and put the car on its side. I've been back to the Ford 50 years later and can't believe how stupid I was.

Hey 👋
Really enjoyed reading and watching the videos. The Puma looks great in matte grey by the way. The crash looked scary but I watched it because I'm really interested in rally myself. I'd love to try it in real life sometime, for now I just practice on rally sims. Congratulations on your rally successes so far!

there are more content of the puma in my ig account - m.ralys

Welcome Mantvydas and congratulations for stay alive. I was thinking about removing my rear roll cage but after the video Im gonna reconsider it
😅 How its going your spine? Did you hurt it because the roof collapse onto your head or because the forces in the spinning cause damage on your neck?

It was kinda both, my head got stuck on the side of the roof, and with the first hit, it got hit down on my neck, it’s hard to explain 😄 But everything is good now, no complains. Got back on my feet the next day, and in 2 month got back in my normal rythm 😄

Its hard to imagine the pain 😖 but 2 month recover for that crash is a bless. Take care of you and the new puma ;)
