Hi

As subject says how do you fit one ? I have only been supplied with 2 alloy strut mounts and 2 additional pipes but can't figure it out.

Thanks for help in advance

You mean an F2?
It needs to be welded into the inside frame of the boot lid which is what the 2 additional pipes are for

Where did you get the internal and external pillars from? How much did it all cost you?

Came with kit mate but I know there a fortune separately £90 each.

I still need more info please as bloke at body shop still scratching his head. I.E how does the bits you can't see go together? How do you stop the struts moving around as you can't welt ally to steel.

Thanks

You should have 2x Mild steel struts. On the end should be a circular disk welded to it. This strut goes inside the tailgate with the disc uppermost and welded in place. This disk should also have a hole in it.
The 2x alloy pillar mounts have bolt thread on the underside. You bolt these to the tailgate right through the internal struts.

Sorry bud I'm still not 100% getting it easy when you know how I guess.

So how do small struts attach to longer ones that go into bootlid .

And how do long struts attach in bootlid surely there not welded in, and I was told to weld some bar in to strengthen boot as the added downforce will bend it.? :?

Okay.... you have 4x struts. 2 are mild steel (The bigger ones) and the 2 smaller are alloy.

Heres how you do it.

Mark up on the tailgate where the alloy struts will be positioned. (Precise measurements)
Drill a hole on each mark into the tailgate. I believe an 8mm or 10mmm bit.
Remove all interior plastics from the tailgate.
Align up the two larger struts INSIDE the tailgate with the two circular plates uppermost.
Drill two 25mm holes in the bottom of the tailgate so that you can get access to the inside of the two internal struts.
WELD STRUTS IN PLACE. (These provide the structural stability to stop the tailgate from bending)
Put a bolt through the internal strut so it pops out of the top of the tailgate.
Screw on the two alloy pillar mounts onto the bolt you just put through.
(Good to put a little tiger seal at the base of the alloy pillars)
Weld plate over the two 25mm holes in the bottom of the tailgate. Add filler, sand, paint etc
Mount F2 using the 4x smaller bolts.
