Anybody know if you can get a magnetic plug for the gearbox, similar to those they do for the engine sump drain plug?

Cheers.

If you know the thread size then maybe one of these?

What to the gearbox or the engine? are they the same size M14 x 1.5?

and to answer your question no there isnt a magnetic drain plug because there is no drain plug!

I was thinking of replacing the plug below the filler plug which I drained most of the oil out of (which is not technically the drain) with a magnetic one, but if there is a magnet in the gearbox already, then happy days! :eek:k:

thats not a plug its a detent, and is designed for a spring loaded plunger to fit you wont get anything like that to work, and you also wouldnt want metal bits collecting round it as its a mechanical part of the box

but as said the gearbox already has a magnet inside it

As others have said, there is no drain plug...you generally drain the gearbox by pulling the intermediate driveshaft out.
