Hi everyone,
I went back to the Nurburgring this year for the 2nd time, here are a few (ok a lot :lol of pictures and some videos from the trip. Last year it was just me in my Racing Puma and my mate Ross and his Focus ST. Along with us this year was a Subaru Impreza, Mercedes CLK AMG and another Racing Puma.
We went for 5 days; Friday 21st May till Wednesday 26th. The plan was to drive over Friday, lap Sat/Sun/Mon, have a bit of a chilled day on the Tuesday and return on the Wednesday.
We met up on Friday morning about 5.30am at the Dartford Crossing services and made our way down to Dover in convoy for a 9am crossing.
On the ferry:
Once across we cracked on with the 300mile journey to the hotel, the trip took quite a long time this year as we hit some monumental traffic south of Brussels!
However the trip was quite fun at times  :
At the hotel:
Saturday morning we headed straight down to the track, but had to stop for a photo opportunity!
When we got there bought some laps and got out onto the track. First lap out was just as scary as last year, and even worse the track seemed brand new all over again, it took me a while to learn how to sting some of the corners together again. I put in 3 laps as it was fairly busy and lost a mud-flap. Here are a few pics from the day:
On his second lap Glyn lost boost halfway around, upon inspection the vacuum hose to his turbo actuator had got too hot and melted through, he went to a local German 'Halfords' and got some new pipe to replace the broken one, all seemed to be sorted.
Sunday, much more of the same really, I put in another 2 laps as it was really busy! However Glyn had more issues with boost and it appeared the turbo had fully given up so he limped the Subaru down to a garage in Adanau to have a look, and decided to get the turbo off to have a look see! The bearing had collapsed and the impeller was fouling the compressor casing pretty badly = turbo in the bin. Turned out there was a tiny restrictor in the melted vacuum pipe that we had unknowingly binned, meaning with the new pipe he was over boosting; which was the final nail in the turbo's coffin. :? At this point any normal person would have made use of their breakdown cover and got a tow home... not Glyn  Again more pics from the day:
Monday, Glyn got on the phone to a Subaru specialist in the UK and managed to arrange for a turbo to be shipped overnight to our hotel!!! Also as we decided to do a few laps on the Tuesday evening session too so we all topped up our lap cars some more. I did 4 laps on the Monday and was starting to feel more confident around the circuit again. At lunchtime we all piled into a few cars and headed off to do some spectating, firstly at Wehrseifen:
Then at Adenauer-Forst:
Tuesday, Glyns turbo turns up at the Hotel.
While he and Darren went back down to Adanau to fit it, Ross, Adam and I went off to do some more spectating. Firstly at Hocheichen:
Health & Safety 101
???????
Then Hatzenbach:
Then the first corner of the north loop (cant find a name):
Then had a wander around the new track complex:
We then got ready to make use of the evening tracktime; 5.30pm - 7.30pm, and to our suprise we were joined by Glyn who was ready to head back out! I did another 2 laps, one of which was a 9m 10s, my fastest yet Here are some pics of the evening, and my lap video:

That's pretty much it, after letting the cars cool we went back to the hotel and toasted to another brilliant trip!
Here's the pro pictures I tracked down of my car too:
All that was left was the depressing (and rainy) drive home:
Until next year...
