what i would do (if it was me) was build some metal brackets and weld or bolt on the rear crash panel then fasten the bumper on to them using dzus fastners

that was one option im looking into aswell, no rush on this car so i can take my time and just see what works best... going for the cheapest/easiest option first, tiger seal! then if that dont work i'l make some brackets up

more spending! i have now got a new light weight battery and a new battery/ignition kill switch, the car will be heading off to its new home for the winter this weekend... my grans double garage, means ive got somewhere dry and warm to work on the car!

puma is now in the garage for winter! means i can now get on and start tinkering!

cheers dude, will be working on the car again tomorrow, first job is rear disc conversion and drain the brake fluid out

hi mate, where did you get the stick on number plate? is it legal and does it damage the paintwork?

love the project btw

cheers

its fully legal yes, and i got it from funplates no idea if it damages the paint as ive never taken it off :p But id imagine if you warmed it up as it peeled off then it wouldnt do any lasting damage..

...anyway, bit more progress today, the rear bumper worked using the tiger seal i got, its now solid again and ready for re fitting.

also started on the rear disc conversion,

The donor brakes - Escort RS2000 2 piston calipers

im also going to use the rear anti roll bar off the rear beam i bought
Picture370.jpg

Stripped the drums off the puma
Picture372.jpg

and the car as it is in the garage

Next job is to get the rear beam off and get it painted, need to order new back plates for the rear disc's, new discs and pads, and also tidy the calipers up!

what rear beam spacers have you been using now?

Hello

nice project the rear discs, i'm also bussy with my Puma , this will also be my next project so please post as much pics you can
didn't know the Escort RS2000 would fit, how about the ABS connector.?

grtz
gijs

to be honest i didnt know they would fit either but they fit the zetec s fiesta which is the same.. plus i got the rear beam dirt cheap so if they dont its not a massive issue, yeh i will post as many pics as i can... providing i remember my camera lol

i had 12.5mm on the car, (now for sale) and im fitting 20mm ones to car with the rear discs

ah right ok, didnt the 12.5 mm make much of a difference? im looking at 20mm ones, im running 15/205 wheels and dropping 40mm, reckon they will be ok with 20mm spacers?

cheers

I would hold onto the 12.5mm you may have clearance problems withe extra width of the rear disc conversion with 20.5mm spacers + rear discs. I know this is the case with using the rear focus discs with 20.5mm spacers!!!
