Seems to be contradicting itself on website so must be an error on the March 2000 thing, as it states 2002 when you click on Puma fitment guide

yeah, I think I'd ring anyone you're thinking of purchasing from first to double check as I find 2 part numbers for the tank. I suspect it is the one posted above and the one you found but best checking. The 2 part codes are in the following link which also says different manufacturing dates for the Puma but lists the same model years overall (if that makes sense)

Part Number 1095876 is showing as the correct number for my Thunder manufactured in Dec 2001, on the catalogs.ssg.asia:

IIRC, it's to do with differing positions of the baffle near the fuel pump, which could interfere with the float arm.

The baffle is too far to the right as you look through the hole where the fuel pump sits.

I cut two more small slots in the top which allows the fuel pump to be positioned around 30 degrees anti clockwise which allows the float to clear the baffle. There's enough play in the fuel pipes for this.

You will also need to fabricate something for the fuel filter mount.
