Puma and petrol smell

Hi guys/dolls

Daughter took out the Puma today left it on a hill for 4/5 hours drove home and now it stinks of petrol any ideas?

Hi Delboy
Could be a leaky petrol tank or a corroded clip on the fuel filler pipes. Jack up the car at the back and have a look around the sides of the petrol tank to see if you can see any obvious stains.

When I got mine it had a generic fuel cap and that would leak stink occasionally going up hills, dunno if that leads on to an ill fitting cap being a possible culprit?

cheers guys all help appreciated. She loves her puma but its got a bit problematical lately so hope we can resolve quickly.
