Hi all, what parts are needed for a rear disc conversion?

I think it's;
Focus callipers
Focus Hubs
Discs obviously
anything else? handbrake cable perhaps?

Thanks :)

For a rear disc conversion you will need the following;

Mk1 Focus stub axles (1 LH and 1 RH)
Mk1 Focus rear hubs
Mk1 Focus rear splash Shields (1 LH and 1 RH) (1138516 & 1138516)
Mk1 Focus rear disc set (1514237)
Mk1 Focus rear pad set (1425407)
Mk1 Focus calipers (1 LH and 1 RH, Made by Lucas and needs to have 34 stamped on them)
MK6 Fiesta ST or FRP handbrake cable
Rear hub nuts x2 (1144582)
Rear hub nut grease cap x2 (1206923)
Stub axle bolts x8 (6561768)
Rear bearing x2 (4154713) or (1201568 with seals)

If you want ABS to work you will need the following;

Ford Puma rear tone wheel (7314843)
Escort rear ABS sensor (1011582)

You will also need to do the following;

Machine another hole in the stub axles for Escort ABS Sensor
Machine a small amount on the rear hubs to accommodate the Puma tone wheels

hello , i have just this morning removed the whole rear stub axle
(disk) from a focus, to convert my puma im not overly bothered about the abs working just concerned weather the light will come on the dash as that would rearly annoy me thanx

Making the hole in e stub bigger isn't all that hard, machining the hub to fit the tone ring is, and you need specialist machinery to do it. But having e abs working is worth it, :)

Note the escort rear abs sensors are probably best (i dont know) but standard puma abs sensors wil work to, that os what I'm using :)

Will the focus Mk1 handbrake cable (for the car that came with rear discs, obviously) do the trick?
I presume I am after the Y section of the cable, the long and more expensive one?

Thanks in advance

just remember, that the fiesta st cable has a different conecting clip at the end or front if you wil where the 2 cabels conect to the handbrake lever. this is no problem, you just swap the one from the original cables :)

Thanks for the info!
What is the story with ABS sensors? Does anyone here know how to get them out of the existing drums in a NONDESTRUCTIVE way? I have tried TWICE already and couldn't get them out. Sprayed some WD40 but nothing happened. How hard can you hit them, as tapping is obviously not working? How about the continuos steady pressure using some lever or something similar?
I guess my question is how strong are the sensors?

Just to let you know all that I have finally managed to get the sensors out. Used a puller in reverse mode. I.e. puller (two leg model, if that is right word, you'll understand what I am talking about) got hooked on the shaftplate and them the shaft pointed into the sensors. To avoid destroying it put a 10 socket on it; it is exactly the right size. So the shaft was pushing the socket and the socket was pushing out the sensor. I was doing it slowly; two-three turns, you could hear squeak noise as the sensor was going out. Finally, the sensors were out: cleaned the hole, used some sand paper and now I have DETACHABLE ABS sensors as they were meant to be in the first place!
That is my advice; instead of banging and risking damaging them, use a puller!
