TLDR version:
Ex-Pressed Steel Panels can make any Puma body panel we want - so what do you want? Tell them here:

Full story:
You may or may not be aware that I, with the assistance of ArtfulHussy on here, handed over the last known set of original unpainted complete Ford Puma sills to a company called Ex-Pressed Steel Panels Ltd who specialise in reproducing out of stock Ford body panels, for the purposes of putting them back into production. (Click for their Facebook page).

It's taken a while but they're now in production - £125 plus VAT per side; considerably cheaper than they were from Ford originally. Orders placed now will be ready in approximately 90 days due to demand and because each sill is made to order. They are absolute works of art as I'm sure the first happy customer XAF will agree. Cheaper patch panels (aka "Repair Sills) that cover the area just under the scuff plates (the most common place for the sills to rust) are also available - you can get your hands on these immediately as they have these in stock due to being considerably easier to manufacture. Just £52.50 + VAT for these.

HOWEVER! They have now sourced original unpainted body panels for both Standard Pumas AND Racing Pumas - ALL FOUR CORNERS FOR BOTH!

It takes a lot of time and effort, multiple test runs and R&D to replicate these panels, so they've asked me to ask you what you want them to make next. Do you want complete standard replica panels, just patch panels for the rear quarters, or would you consider putting a full Racing Puma body kit on if the price was right?

Let me know here, and we'll make it happen:

Although my car is (hopefully) in good condition, I would consider making FRP replica at some date.

And yes, congrats for the effort and the result. We would say: jebenica! (don't try google translating it, it is a slang

Hi,
Good news indeed. I am in the fortunate position not to need panels at the moment but who knows what the future holds. The marque of car I was heavily into for twenty years went down the same road but I think we are being more proactive sooner and that will pay dividends in the years to come.

Regards,
Richard.

In a way this could cause the value of Pumas to start increasing, as potential buyers will realize that rusty ones can be saved from the crusher so there may be more demand for them.

[post]350657[/post] Well done all. Survey completed, and I had better start saving now...
Me too! Got my eye in an frp kit now.

Would deffo consider full racing puma kit if price was right!

That would leave the bumpers being the ridiculously expensive part.

Great work. The sills look brilliant and were an area of the puma that was going to worry me.

I think both FRP and standard rear archs would be great to start getting cars back up to scratch.

all very cool, but what materials can these parts be made from? is it just steel (in which case not much use for an FRP) or can these be done in alu?

Why would they be not much use for a FRP :?
Only the front wings are aluminium. And surely they could be replaced with steel ones anyway.

[post]350815[/post] Luckily I'm in no need of panels. But some standard or FRP panels would be brilliant for future ideas/plans.

Agree with Brian - mine's OK at the moment (touch wood!), but it's good to know it's there. Great news, and just what the Puma needs to keep them on the road and reach that 'classic' status.

Any update on FRP rear wings? They would make my project a heĺl of a lot easier!

Wow - just spotted this from a Google - my Puma project is mothballed for now, but I suspect will need some welding when I get onto it and that may well include sills...

Excellent news - hopefully it means more Pumas will avoid the scrapman!
