    2000 Pacific green 1.7

The time has come for me to sell my Puma. Its done me great over the last 4 years and it has never let me down. She has 131K on the clock and has the usual rust around the rear arches. MOT is till June. I am the second owner, the first being a lady who had it dealer Serviced for everything...

    Hillclimb and sprint Puma

I think I might, I was looking at it last night thinking I may just go and do it. Now I've got back into it again I've got the bug! Are you doing it?

    Hillclimb and sprint Puma

Was good to meet you and Neil at the Autosolo. I had a great time despite the occasional clutch slipping. I think my times were getting a little closer to you by the end of the day. My 12yr old son was taking some videos of the event, when you compare the 2 can see the difference between coil...

    MOT Failure - Any Advice?

If they had fitted then thats exactly what I thought, a good compromise. I'll PM you with details Monday. Cheers.

    MOT Failure - Any Advice?

I did the rear beam bushes before the MOT, I foolsihly bought these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150839585403 thinking that it stated that they were easy to fit so similar to Poly Bushes but not quite as harsh, but easier than fitting originals. I now have poly bushes. These items were a bad fit...

    MOT Failure - Any Advice?

I agree, it is reasonable. I just wasn't 100% sure that the description they gave was the wishbone bushes. I had never heard them described as bonded suspension unit. I am just frustrated with myself that I didn't pick up on them when I checked the car over. This is the 2nd time I've taken it...

    MOT Failure - Any Advice?

The Dampers seem fine, there's no leaking, splits or anything obvious. It is a terrible description though! I just don't want to go and replace the wishbones and it goes back in and fails!

    MOT Failure - Any Advice?

Just had MOT failure on my Puma, it failed on "Nearside and Offside front lower (rear) bonded suspension unit bonding failed and part of unit is likely to become displaced". As the place I take it to doesn't allow the MOT testers to actually talk to the customer the guy on the desk just said oh...

    Coolant hoses

I am hoping someone can help me, I am after the hoses that go into the HCV specifically the short one that goes into the RHS of the HCV. Mine has just split, just when it was being MOT'd, typical! I went to Ford but they wanted to sell me a complete set which they will not break up and were £75...

    MPG again!

Got to admit I never thought that different fuels could give such different results. Could it also be down to the calibration of the pumps though. I've heard of people filling up at morrisons and getting much more in the tank than the tank should take, bearing in mind that the tank would not...

    Advice before purchasing

Hi Kwest, Welcome to the forum, I'm pretty new here too but if I could add a thought or two to assist. I too spent quite some time looking for the right one, and when I did, I managed to pick up a Pacific Green W plate with 90K on the clock, one owner from new and full Ford Service History...

    MPG again!

Tom, that is a very kind offer, Thank You Very Much. Where are you located, I may take you up on that one day! To be honest there is not too much that will phase me, I'm an Aircraft Engineer by trade but what I lack is the tooling at home to get stuff done on cars. If they were made out of...

    MPG again!

Question is Tom, will a Focus box fit a Puma? I suspect it would need an adaptor plate of some sort. Judging by some of the ambitious and very cleverly engineered projects I've seen on here so far I'd be surprised if someone has not tried it. I wish I had the time and spare cash to tackle a...

    MPG again!

I'm heading up on the 17th Aug so I will let you know what I get. Sometimes I do wish it had a 6th gear though, it would make it just that bit lower revving when cruising, which would allow it to be slightly quieter and increase the MPG by a bit too. Has anyone tried to fit a 6 speed box?

    MPG again!

I'm heading off from just outside Reading. The A9 is a nightmare road. I was caught on the Blair atthol bypass many years ago going down the hill overtaking traffic, there used to be a camera there too, but it may have gone now it's years since I've driven up. Flying used to be cheap but the...

    MPG again!

Mac, Much as I love driving, I can't see myself doing 120 with the kids in the car. I also plan to go overnight although I'm only going as far as Inverness so I'm probably a bit of a southerner to you. I think a steady run keeping around 70-80 should be the best of both worlds.

    MPG again!

Thanks Sev, Got to admit I'm looking forward to the long drive, although 500 miles each way with 3 and 9yr old boys in the car and no Mrs with me to referee, it is going to be an interesting trip! If I can manage to get around 40mpg avg on that trip then I'll be a happy man! I could take the...

    MPG again!

I use my Puma daily and get a decent MPG (37-40) on a mix of A and B roads, probably averaging 40mph at the best, but I am planning on a rather longer journey, to Scotland and back, all motorway stuff. Its going to be a long enough journey as it is so I don't plan to stick to 60 all the way to...
