Well the results came through quickly :)
The field was full of serious tackle but im happy, I was more consistant than last time and I was struggling to get heat into the tyres. With my Kumhos I might have even broken 1 minute 20.
Theres always next time...

and as a bonus theres a couple of minutes of me on YouTube, showing an mx5 how to drive fast...
I pass him at 5 mins 30

See you at Oulton on the 8th July, we are booking this one for my birthday, there will be a few of us going.

Watched the video, you were a lot quicker, I've found MX5's to be quite slow round track except for the turbo'd ones which seem to be able to keep up.

Bit bored with Blyton, yeah its fairly close but no real challenge other than keeping your brakes cool. The new circuit looks a bit more interesting but always found the staff picky and more keen than other circuits

Ive booked the three intermediate sessions in the afternoon at Fordfair
(they are all free-for-alls anyway)

Im out at 15:20, 16:20 & 17:00 (as I recall from last year, these late sessions were mental)

Is anyone else taking their Puma (or other) out at Fordfair?

Oh yeah, im looking forward to this one
I keep car money seperate from the family/house/taxman/bailiff money but ill probably have to borrow myself the 30 quid or so im short in the car pot (blame the mondeo brakes!)
Ill book it tomorrow I think.

Did first trackday in puma on friday, 149 miles around castle combe, didn't miss a beat, however the 40 litre petrol tank is a tad annoying, as brimmed just B4, took 15 litres in cans, which went in, and put 37 litres in 5 miles after leaving combe

however on the plus side did 39 MPG driving down there, and 43 driving back

for a standard car, with just front brakes, ATE super blue fluid, and new belts/fluids and general clean up, car stands me at 650 quid exc road tax and insurance

Planning to book Snetterton sat 19th and Thruxton on 14th august

yep, I reckon the Puma is one of the best pound for fun track cars around.

Theres a lot of very fast cars booked on Oulton, but we have a few MX5's, escorts and even an MG Metro turbo to play with.

Love the car, just lacks the power on straights, first time I've been on track with something non turbo, and it lacks the seats and creature comforts of a volvo

trublustu - seen your confirmed on Javelin at Oulton - we have booked two garages, your welcome to join us and store any kit in the garage, park in our pitlane etc. It means we can co-ordinate going out together for a bit of "racing" lolbut not racing if you know what I mean

Nice one noob, North-West weather is not to be trusted one inch...

Itll be nice to see how my driveway maintained rescued scrapper, built with second hand and ebay parts, performs next to a more exotic piece of kit (yours)...

If anyone else still fancies Oulton on the 8th July, be quick!!! just 11 places left!!

NOW SOLD OUT

lol...exotic...The £350 Gumtree special with the cheapest Ebay bits money can buy...the car owes me less than a grand, and barring the £300 TA Technic coilovers, the most expensive thing on the car is the stickers.... Seriously though, its alway more fun with similar machinery on track, the Pumesta is pretty much identical spec to mine and we have a ball chasing each other round.

Should be a good day, looking forward to it

Well...
The car now has front shockers with oil in them and rear shoes with friction material on them!
It might even perform a little less randomly tomorrow at Oulton.
The weather looks great, the car is singing, just gotta polish my helmet :!: and im ready to go
See you there noobrider...

Cant wait :-D

I'm doing Cadwell this Sunday, 13th July. My favourite track so far in the Puma!

Anyone else there?

Ive not been to Cadwell.
I fully intend to this year though, maybe sept/oct,
Anyone else up for this?

It's a great track in the Puma IMHO. Not much run off if you get it wrong on the short section of twisty bits after 'The Mountain', and you're never going to win top speed awards going up Park Straights, but I love it. The speeds you can throw it into Coppice is ace!

Deffo agree with this, best track I've been to so far. I'm planning on going to croft this month, never been before and really looking forward to it.

Stu - I'm miffed. Got a set of semi slicks but no wheels to fit them on. Acquired a set of Focus alloys today but they dont have the right offset for the Puma. Looking forward very much to Oulton, one of my fave tracks. All washed checked and ready - 5.30am set off time tomorrow morning.....

XAF - Cadwell is awesome, even more so in the wet in a Puma. Love that circuit too - dares you to challenge it, narrow, twisty and lots of gradient changes Heres a chase video from the Pumesta with my Puma in front - in the wet we were overtaking everything on track just about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dx3Wqgrw40s" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

will be up for an October Cadwell Stu, August and September are a bit busy for us

Hiya, i'll be up for a Cadwell in October.. Cadwell was always my fave track when i used to race bikes and i've enjoyed loads of open pit lane trackdays there too.. Never been out on track in a car though, can't wait to get the puma out.. needs tyres and sprucing up first hahaha
