My cars idle has been pretty shoddy so decided to get a 2nd hand icv from a breakers, Just whacked it on and and started car up and its idling at 3-4k! :/ Something I'v done or is the the thing knackered? Anything thing I could give the new/old one a clean up with also?

I had the exact same problem a few months ago. The ICV was dirty. I got it out and washed it with carburateur cleaner and it solved the problem.

FIXED!! Could be dirty ICV they gave me but its going back regardless.

Popped and saw pumanoob, he noticed someone had installed a rising rate FPReg (thats saved me some money towards the turbo conversion!) that was disconnected! So engine was sucking in unmetered air and causing fueling/idling problems. Original ICV was actually fine to start with.

Thanks for help all :)
