That looks really neat!

Are you meshing the hole to stop stuff going up into the filter?

Hi Red,

I hadn’t planned on meshing the hole as I use a Ram-air foam cone style filter inside. hopefully that will be enough
I’ll be having a go at making a inlet manifold/plenum at some point just waiting for some parts to turn up.

Possibly abit high for fog lights I did look at doing that a while ago but to put them lower I think the moulding would look wrong on the bumper. Shame really

I ended up putting led fog lights in the bottom grill instead

Couple more photos from today and the airbox with lid fitted. Excuse the rough finish and odd line/pen marking. Need to rub the edges off and find some
More paint 😂👍🏻

Years ago I put a fender scoop on my Cougar:

The stock airbox drew air from the fender anyway, so it was a simple matter to make a plastic piece inside the fender to smoothly redirect the air from the scoop to the intake. Under the hood, I took out the stock airbox and all the interference that I could, bought the biggest filter I could fit in that space, and built a custom airbox around that filter.

I cant say if all that effort added any measurable power or not because I did other mods at the same time, but I got a lot of personal satisfaction from the project, and it makes a good conversation starter at car shows. At the very least, I'm sure the giant air filter is a big positive.

Looks good and the idea trying to direct a cooler air suply with surly help if only a little. I’ve tried to build mine with a ram air effect with a sealed box (as best as I could) to try and improve the effect
