Hi guys

I'm currently restoring my 2001 Puma which I have had since 2003. It's been SORN since 2014 and I was a couple of days away from donating it to my local college for the students to learn on. A couple of sleepless nights later I decided I couldn't part with it! It's medium steel blue and has around 79000 miles on the clock. It needs an arch repair as well as NSR sill repair and 2 x floor pan repairs. Oh and the fuel pump is seized!

Bit about me. I was a technician for my local Ford garage for 15 Years, I left there to join a Honda garage 5 years ago where I'm now a senior tech.

Anyway I'll be hoping to get some good advice from you guys as I try to get my Puma back to life!

Cheers

Steve

Got the fuel pump in and it runs nicely. Welded up the two holes in the floor pan. Found new corrosion holes too! OSR inner seal near the handbrake cable attachment and a horrible looking one behind the OSR wheel arch carpet.

Have a look on the inner sill just in front of the rear wheel arch where the handbrake cable is clipped to. You may find that that is pretty scabby as well.

Yep I mentioned that. Two holes welded this weekend then find two more! Anyone had corrosion like that in this area?

Oh sorry I missed that. It's a common spot as are one or more problem areas if you have a look on my thread you'll see most of them.

Welcome and good luck with your puma its good that you can weld as these cars can rot badly, after all the latest pumas are now nearly 14 years old so its to be expected.
