Hi all I was just wondering will this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/COIL-PACK-IGNITION-Focus-PUMA-ESCORT-KA-OE-FORD-notCOPY-/160583201811?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2563813413" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; coil pack fit my 2001 puma as I know there are two different types.
Thanks !

If it is actually the one in the picture then it's the push on fitting not the clip on one. Have a look at your old one to see how the leads connect, the clip on type have two little latches either side of the lead.

As far as I know, it doesn't really matter aslong as you get the accompanying spark leads, I think you can put any coilpack on push or clips, but then you gotta make sure you buy the push or clip cables to connect to it, if ur replacing your coilpack, you might as well replace your leads at the same time.

Thanks for the replys guys, you have a very good point there tekz but will the clip version of the leads work on my 2001 model also should I get a specific make of leads e.g Bosch or doesn't it really matter. Thanks

I think they changed it from clips to push in 2000, although don't call me on that, someone on here will know, you say you have push on's, if that's the case you need the push on leads, Bosch are cheap and cheerful, and are oe spec so will do the job fine, some people swear on really expensive makes, I'm of the opinion that Bosch will be fine and it doesn't really make a difference but in saying that I am going to be getting these http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?a...i-1-7i-16v-Splitfire-Twin-Core-Ignition-Leads at £37, they are middle of the road kind of price and probably a bit better than OE ones (Bosch), probably wont make much difference, but some people swear on uprated HT leads and spend up to £70 on a certain make of which I can't remember I think it's Magnecor.

Here is a link to a .PDF explaining the difference with push on and clip coilpacks/leads on page 3.

Hope some of this helps or enlightens or whatever.

Wow thanks for all the info guys, I will proberly go for those spitfire leads aswell. Still leaves me with the question on whether that coilpack is for the later models?
