Hi I'm fitting a shift light to my 1400 puma. Can anyone advise where to pick up a tacho signal. I've heard that you can pick it up at the coil pack but I did not want to start splicing cables without the right advice.

Do you need to retain the heat shields that are between the exhaust and the underneath of the car. They are like tin foil pie dishes. The car is now stripped inside with no interior except race seats etc. If they are not needed can you paint the bodywork with hammerite or is it flammable? Cheers
