Hi everyone!

I want to replace front brake discs and pads of my Puma 1.7 2001 (260 mm). I want to keep it fairly cheap but of decent quality if that's possible.
Could anyone give me an advice, please?
I have seen these Mintex Packs (discs and pads) which are £43

Another option I'm thinking of is to buy standard Ford.

Any ideas anyone? Links would be much appreciated! :D

Blimey - you've been quiet for a while! Welcome back!

Hi evilrob!

Yes, work has kept me a bit too busy lately... :( but on the plus side my beloved Puma is not giving me too much trouble other than the occasional "hiccup" :) (fingers crossed)
Many thanks for your message! :D

Ford genuine disc ? very expensive !

Brembo or ATE is a good value for money

Genuine Ford discs from Ford are not expensive at all! I bought my 320mm discs for my Focus ST for about £80 a pair.

Ford OEM discs are on special most of the time:

Cost me £70.91 a pair but retail was £54.54 each for my much larger discs. My Ford dealer told me that he has been told to discount to keep competitive.

Doesn't hurt to ask your local dealer for a price. The quality is far better than the usual aftermarket rubbish.

That's because the Ford original ones are made by ATE... If your willing to spend just a little bit more I can really advice the Raptor X brakes from Tuninghaus. I'm running on a set now for two years and I really wouldnt ever switch back again..! They are worth the money.

I bought in the end a pair of Brembo 260 mm discs for £28 including VAT and delivery from Next Day Brakes:

It was my 1st purchase from this company and was very pleased with the service! (and I hope it's not a case of "if it looks too good to be true" kind of situation  )
The Ford discs were around £57 + VAT from FordParts UK

I have received both pads and discs (original Ford for about £30) and will fit as soon as the weather (and work) permits so will let you now via post updates here if everything is going ok...

Many thanks to all for your comments and suggestions! :eek:k:
