Hi Guys,
just called my local main dealer to enquire about price for cambelt replacement, and thought it best to get aux belt and tensioner done at the same time, they advised me that the tensioner is no longer available, has anyone got a link to a good aftermarket one please.

Most people fit the GATES K035433XS TIMING BELT SET:

You should fit a new water-pump at the same time.

I recently bought a new aux belt tensioner,, thankfully I was able to find a new old stock one. That will be your only chance of a genuine one.

15% off at the moment.

Thank you for your help and the links, I tried both performance puma and OC motorsport asking them for a price to supply and fit a cam-belt, Aux belt, tensioner and water pump, but neither came back to me , ( The main dealer wanted £650 just for the cambelt ) Yikes ! . I have found a local garage with a mechanic who is a Puma fan and they are happy to do the work. So will ask them to source OE Ford parts, or I will supply Gates ones.
I would usually do the work myself, but as its a bit more involved then a standard set up I will leave it to someone else !
Once the belts are done I will be looking for a decent quality, great sounding exhaust , so will definitely come back and ask on this forum for suggestions.

That's frustrating, maybe they're busy, did you manage to speak to them? I havent heard any feedback about them one way or another recently.

Good luck!

yes I spoke to OC who said he would find out the price and get back to me, that was last week, Performance Puma initially responded to my Facebook message telling me where they where, but nothing since i asked them to quote me.
It is very frustrating, but more and more common unfortunately.
Cant give my money away laugh out loud...

Yep, can't be doing with that, it's the same for local tradespeople of all varieties.

With regards to the auxiliary belt tensioner , the nut holding the pulley on is reverse thread . ie turn clockwise to undo it.
I replaced the bearing on mine for £3 .

Bit of a distance, but have you tried PumaShacked at Chelmsford?

I now have the car booked in with Allison Engineering, he is going to do the full stage 1 engine service ( includes engine removal ) there is a bit of a wait to get it in with Chris, but I felt that it was worth the wait (and the trip up North ! ) to get it done by someone who seems to take real pride in his work.

Neither Performance Puma or OC motorsport ever did get back to me with a price or date to do the work, so I can only assume they arent doing Puma work anymore, or if they are then they are just too busy. Im pleased really, as in my experience if someone doesnt really want the work, they dont always do such a good job.

Chris Allison is also going to supply and fit a stainless exhaust system, so im really looking forward to having the work done.

How did you replace the bearing? Is it just a case of undoing the bolt clockwise removing the bearing¿

I've met Chris before, he serviced the front calipers on my Racing Puma many moons back before he even started with all the engine servicing work. He has a great attention for detail and I've never heard a bad thing about his work.

The bearing can be pressed or pulled out of the pulley housing . As it was done in the factory in the first place. a suitable sized socket and hammer also works
