Quick stop - Durham - Friday 3rd September

I'll have to get that Korean text translated, but I'm pretty sure it says "Danger of death" or something similar :) My driving position is awesome, seat all the way back with it tilted backwards so I don't hit my head on the roof, just means slightly shorter people can't reach the pedals :P

Quick stop - Durham - Friday 3rd September

No problem on the food front Paul, glad you could make it! ;) Great to see you, Dal and Cherie! :D I had a lovely bloody steak, exactly how it should be, and it was great to catch up with everyone, just like the good old days when I had a little Puma too... I can't believe you dug your old...

Quick stop - Durham - Friday 3rd September

Table booked now at the Rose Tree Inn: http://www.rosetreeinn.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; since the Seven Stars was fully booked :( I've got it booked for 7:30, but I'll probably get there 7-ish, so we'll able to have a good ol' catch up over some food :) Yip, I've...

Quick stop - Durham - Friday 3rd September

What about here: http://www.sevenstarsinn.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I've been recommended it by someone who knows his pubs (the old man) as somewhere that does nice drinks and good food :) I'll be driving down I think, so I could do lifts if you and Cherie fancy a...

    BAD: Mr. Clutch Gateshead

Well experiences differ between customers. Which Mr. Clutch branch are you talking about Gaz? I'm specifically talking about the one on Gateshead really based on past experience, but a lot of motor review forums have a lot of similar bad comments about the entire brand.

    Bloody Hyundai!!

    Done :ok:
  8. Zenithus

    BAD: Mr. Clutch Gateshead

This applies to ANY branch of Mr. Clutch from what I've read, but specifically the one in Gateshead. Took my Hyundai in for a new clutch costing around £320. They then told me I needed a new dual-mass flywheel too, which the computer hadn't noticed my car had, which would ramp the total up to...

    Bloody Hyundai!!

Paul: It was the Gateshead branch. From what I've read online since having the trouble, it doesn't seem to matter which branch you go to, they're ran by a bunch of monkeys with spanners! Avoid at all costs ;)

    Bloody Hyundai!!

As long as Z hasn't got you anything elaborate planned Andy, bank holiday weekend sounds great :D

    Bloody Hyundai!!

I'll be keeping it for now, I love driving it now it doesn't jump around and slip all the time! :D And Z, I'll be down soon! You got any free weekends in August? :P
  12. Zenithus

    Bloody Hyundai!!

Yeah I'm pleased with the way it worked out in the end... Could've ended up with a huge fight through trading standards and I'm glad it didn't go to that! Still unsure whether to sell the car or keep it though... It's not it's fault some muppet broke the gearbox though, so I might keep it for...
  13. Zenithus

    Bloody Hyundai!!

Well, a bit of a follow up. The gearbox investigation proved inconclusive (or so I was told), but as a "gesture of goodwill", I now have a new gearbox in my car, £50 off the clutch/flywheel work and I'm out motoring again! All sorted in the end then, but this experience has left me completely...
  14. Zenithus

    Bloody Hyundai!!

Cheers for all the comments guys! They must realise I'm not going to accept that it was wear and tear, even if they say so. Like Yip says, they have a financial interest to see it not being their fault. If they find it IS wear and tear, I'll have the gearbox shipped back to me and send it off...
  15. Zenithus

    Bloody Hyundai!!

Thought I'd post my trials and tribulations on here, I want sympathy!! :) The Coupe has always had its fair share of problems, but these latest ones are ridiculous, and are, in fairness, not the car's fault. The clutch had been slipping for a while, and I finally decided to get it tested, just...

    My new car

Looking very nice indeed Dal! The wheels are flippin' gorgeous and the interior's not too bad either :) Must be nice to have the combination of mpg AND power ;)

    My Hyundai Coupe V6

I haven't had much of a look yet to be honest. I'm desperately trying not to spend unneeded money at the moment after buying it, so I'll be waiting for a while yet, but that'll be the sort of thing I look for when the time comes I think.
  19. Zenithus

Should i sell up the puma?

It would be fine if it was the car it was actually trying to be, but I've never seen much point in these old Ford replicas... At the end of the day mate it's your decision, but if it was me making it I don't think it would be a hard one...

    My Hyundai Coupe V6

Yeah Rob I wouldn't say it was an overworked setup, but it means if I want to have a play around with it later on theres always plenty of untapped potential.
