Think these are quite cheap from ford

the blower/heater selector cable went so I replaced with one from a 2001 model (mines a 98) the cable only seems to fit one way but when I select dor example the window the floor blows instead its always blowing the next one. am I missing somthing obvious here? or are there two types of cable?

Hi as above when the heater is set to full the air is not hot all the time, it comes in waves and is normally only luke warm. I tried bleeding the expansion tank many times but it has not helped. Thanks for any advice in advance!
